These Terms of Service govern your use of this website, operated by Laura Burkey Coaching (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Use of the site

You may use the site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to violate a law or another person’s rights, transmit spam or malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with normal operation, or use automated methods to misuse the site’s forms or interactive tools.

Inquiries and requests

Forms on the site let you request information or begin a conversation about speaking, Empow-WORD™ experiences, or related work. Submitting a form does not create a contract, reserve a date, confirm availability, or establish an engagement. Any scope, schedule, fee, or engagement becomes binding only when confirmed separately in writing.

Word Lab and educational material

The One-Word Check, SAY BOTH. practice, Word Field Note, articles, videos, and other materials are educational resources. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice; they do not diagnose, assess, treat, or replace care from an appropriately qualified professional.

The Word Lab presents language comparisons drawn from Laura Burkey’s published work. It does not score a person, declare one word universally correct, or promise a particular result. Context and the visitor’s direct experience determine whether a comparison is useful. If a serious health, safety, or clinical concern is present, seek appropriate professional or emergency support.

Private entries and downloads

The interactive Word Lab is designed to create its personalized Field Note in the visitor’s browser. You are responsible for the sentences and notes you choose to enter and for any downloaded or printed copy you keep. Do not enter material you do not have the right to use. See the Privacy Policy for details about what stays on the device and what optional forms collect.

Intellectual property

The site and its content, including Laura Burkey’s writing, Words That Work™ materials, interactive experience, text, graphics, logos, images, downloads, and layout, are owned by Laura Burkey Coaching or used with permission and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view pages and keep resources expressly offered for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, or redistribute the site’s content without permission.

Accuracy and availability

We work to keep the site useful and current, but we do not warrant that every item is complete, error-free, or available at all times. Content and features may change without notice.

The site may link to third-party websites and services we do not control, including Substack and social or video platforms. We are not responsible for their content, availability, products, terms, or privacy practices. A link does not by itself imply endorsement.
